specialSessions

laurieG wholeheartedly pours herself into creating special sessions which ground, nourish & inspire with intention*infused,  organic movement, guided contemplation/meditation & sweet deep relaxation.  synchronized with the cycles of the moon and seasons, sessions are intuitively designed to nourish, transform and inspire. for the past ten years, sacred spaces created on rooftops & beaches... in gardens, backyards, homes, lofts and studios (and even in vacant storefronts) have served as safe havens where individuals have taken deep dives into their own bodies, minds and hearts, reconnecting with that which is most essential. each session is a unique experience- essential oils, mantra, improvised soundscapes and ritual help deepen the experience.

we are all intimately and inextricably interconnected with each other, the movement of the earth and all that is, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not… when we do, we tap into a profound gift… acknowledging our connectivity to all living beings and mama Gaia (earth, herself)  engenders deep compassion, opens doorways and fuels transformation. when we align ourselves  purposefully, consciously, intentionally with this infinite energy, we exponentially increase our capacity for co-creation. the more fully we come into presence in ourselves- in body, in breath, in moment the more fully we can participate in the ever evolving dance that is life itself.

join me for a supremely chill deep dive into alignment with the energies of the new moon. designed with the intention of honoring the rhythms of the lunar cycle, this experience is an invitation to pause & be- in your body, with your breath, with intention. the days surrounding the new moon tend to be those in which we are lowest in energy, our capacity for responding consciously to triggers is challenged and the monkey mind is more likely to get caught up in a seemingly infinite spin cycle with thoughts and emotions, habits and patterns that no longer serve. So too, our need for self care, capacity for connecting with our intuition and the power of intention setting their greatest. Join us for this new monthly gathering on the sunday nearest the new moon. Come, recline over a bolster and set a seed of intention in your heart- in the fertile ground of the infinite within. As we honor this turning in community- the power of our individual intentions, collectively joined, are enhanced. Together we will breathe. We will contemplate. We will meditate. We will be. Please bring a journal or paper and pen and an object (crystal, mala beads, rock, shell, photograph- you will bring it home with you) for our altar.

Join me in dawn's splendid light to greet the arrival of spring with clear intentions and an open heart. If the weather cooperates, we will make our way to the banks of the hudson to witness the sun rising in the sky. We will return to the gorgeous cocoon of the urban sanctuary for practice, contemplation & sweet deep relaxation. The transition from winter to spring is one with physiological, psychological, elemental & energetic implications- we will use breath work, organic movement & insights from ayurveda (the sister science of yoga) to help us meet and balance the energies of this shift.  You will emerge feeling relaxed, renewed, informed & inspired. "The seed cannot know what is going to happen,  the seed has never known the flower.  And the seed cannot even believe that he has the potentiality to become a beautiful flower.  Long is the journey, and it is always safer not to go on that journey because unknown is the path, nothing is guaranteed. Nothing can be guaranteed. Thousand and one are the hazards of the journey,  many are the pitfalls – and the seed is secure, hidden inside a hard core. But the seed tries, it makes an effort; it drops the hard shell which is its security, it starts moving. Immediately the fight starts: the struggle with the soil, with the stones, with the rocks. And the seed was very hard and the sprout will be very, very soft and dangers will be many. There was no danger for the seed, the seed could have survived for millennia, but for the sprout many are the dangers. But the sprout starts towards the unknown, towards the sun, towards the source of light, not knowing where, not knowing why. Great is the cross to be carried, but a dream possesses the seed and the seed moves.” OSHO for a video/blog glimpse into this session, CLICK HERE

“Forever Oneness, Who sings to us in silence, Who teaches us through each other, Guide my steps with strength and wisdom. May I see the lessons as I walk. Honor the purpose of all things. Help me touch with respect, Always speak from behind my eyes. Let me observe, not judge. May I cause no harm, and leave music and beauty after my visit. When I return to Forever, May the circle be closed and the spiral be broader.” -Bee Lake (an aboriginal woman)

“In gratitude, I bow to all generations of ancestors in my blood family. In gratitude, I bow to all generations of ancestors in my spiritual family. In gratitude, I bow to this land and all of the ancestors who made it available. In gratitude and compassion, I bow down and transmit my energy to those I love.  In understanding and compassion, I bow down to reconcile myself with all those who have made me suffer.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

Look at Love,

how it tangles with the one fallen in love

look at spirit

how it fuses with earth

giving it new life

why are you so busy with this or that or good or bad

pay attention to how things blend

why talk about all

the known and the unknown

see how the unknown merges into the known

why think separately

of this life and the next

when one is born from the last

look at your heart and tongue

one feels but deaf and dumb

the other speaks in words and signs

look at water and fire

earth and wind

enemies and friends all at once

the wolf and the lamb

the lion and the deer

far away yet together

look at the unity of this

spring and winter

summer and autumn

manifested in the equinox

you too must mingle  my friends

since the earth and the sky

are mingled just for you and me

be like sugarcane

sweet yet silent

don’t get mixed up with bitter words

my beloved grows right out of my own heart

how much more union can there be?

-Rumi
